About the Role:
Blackpool Council are looking for a qualified Social Worker to join their dedicated Infant Team.
You will be able to demonstrate a good quality of work including court statements, assessments etc. and will be able to support the team manager with mentoring and coaching those less experienced members of your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with children, young people, families, carers, and communities to help them make informed decisions, clarify needs, and contribute to service planning.
- Identify risks of abuse and investigate complaints of neglect, abuse, or ill-treatment, undertaking assessments and arranging accommodation when necessary.
- Apply critical reflection and analysis to support professional decision-making.
- Use judgment and authority to intervene with individuals, families, and communities to promote independence, support, and prevent harm, neglect, and abuse.
- Liaise with colleagues, other departments, and external agencies to gather information and resources for assessment and care planning.
- Work within legal frameworks to support investigations and protection, and provide evidence in court for care proceedings.
- Lead in assessing, planning, and reviewing care plans for children subject to statutory intervention.
- Understand the child’s journey and plan for permanence with the child at the center of all planning.
- Manage an allocated caseload of complex cases, maintaining statutory responsibilities, updating case notes, writing reports, and maintaining chronologies.
- Operate effectively within multi-agency and inter-professional partnership settings and meetings.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Registered with Social Work England
- Eligible to work in the UK
