About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our dedicated Community Response Team at Thurrock Council.
You will be covering weekend duty once a month & covering unsociable hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work with all service users, setting clear objectives, based on focused, strength-based assessments established in partnership, but led by users
- To work directly with individuals who need crisis or pending crisis to establish their wishes and feelings, using a variety of techniques, as required
- To develop outcome-focused care plans and commissioning plans
- To work at all times in an anti-discriminatory way, consistent with Thurrock Equal Opportunities Policy
- To work within accepted standards of customer care and to provide a respectful and sensitive service at all times
- To keep up to date with research findings and new thinking within the social work field
- To attend relevant training courses and workshops as appropriate
- To be available for supervision, as required, and to prepare for supervisory sessions, as required by the Team Manager
- To contribute to the progression of the departmental service plans
- Work in a manner that recognises the diversity of the population and that particularly responds to the needs of women, people from minority ethnic groups, and people with disabilities
- To ensure all work undertaken is person-centred in its approach and outcome
- To adhere to Inter Agency Safeguarding procedures and to follow any policies and procedures that may be laid down by the Adults Housing and Health Directorate
- To identify cases with relevant managers that require a safeguarding referral or response
- To undertake mental capacity assessments under MCA as necessary
- To complete Continuing Health Care Checklists
- To provide complete Court Reports where needed
- To provide reports to meetings, as necessary, of a high standard and within the proper timescales
- To work closely with colleagues in children’s services, health, education, and the voluntary and independent sectors
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Registered with Social Work England
- Eligible to work in the UK
