About the Role:
Cheshire East Council are looking for a qualified Social Worker to join their dedicated Children in Need and Child Protection Team.
Contracted Hours – 37 hours per week (Full-Time) – Hybrid Working (Minimum 3 days in office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the need for social work services, identifying risks and the need for protection, and determine the method of intervention.
- Decide or advise on the use of appropriate Children’s Social Care Services and/or other resources.
- Liaise and negotiate with other professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure the best possible service for children and families.
- Manage an allocated workload within individual and group priorities, following Authority policies.
- Comply with the statutory obligations of the service.
- Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken and complete required administrative procedures.
- Prepare for and attend supervision sessions and staff meetings, utilizing available training and developmental opportunities.
- Contribute to the evaluation and development of services by sharing knowledge on theory, skills, and practice with other staff, professional groups, and stakeholders.
- Supervise, assess, and contribute to the development of students and other staff.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Experience in the field of child care, particularly with looked after children
- Registered with Social Work England
- Eligible to work in the UK
