About the Role:
Cheshire West and Chester Council are looking for a Social Worker to work within the Children with Disabilities Team based in The Portal, Ellesmere Port.
Contracted Hours – 37 hours per week (Full-Time)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the needs of children and young people requiring social work services, identifying risks and protection needs, and develop, coordinate, and deliver multi-agency plans to meet those needs, reviewing plans regularly.
- Identify unmet needs and service gaps to inform resource allocation and service development.
- Engage with professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure the delivery of services as agreed following needs assessment.
- Manage an allocated workload within a team setting.
- Comply with statutory obligations and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the Integrated Children’s System (ICS).
- Prepare for and participate in professional supervision sessions and staff meetings, utilizing training and developmental opportunities.
- Contribute to the evaluation and development of services by sharing knowledge of theory, skills, and practice with other Social Services staff, professional groups, and stakeholders.
- Provide professional support to newly qualified and less experienced social workers, helping them develop their knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Experience in the field of child care
- Registered with Social Work England
- Eligible to work in the UK
