About the Role:
We are seeking a Supervising Social Worker to join our dedicated Fostering Team at Calderdale Council.
Your role is to provide a professional social work service and achieve good outcomes for service users, their families, and carers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, with supervision and advice, a caseload of foster carers who provide short-term and long-term placements, including connected carers
- Develop and facilitate peer support networks among foster carers
- Provide a high standard of supervision and support to foster carers, ensuring compliance with the National Minimum Standards
- Undertake assessments of foster carers, including long-term assessments and special guardianship assessments
- Provide induction to newly approved foster carers, including introductions to wider council services, relevant information sharing, and high-level placement support
- Support the delivery of training to foster carers
- Adhere to agreed recording systems, policies, and procedures
- Participate in the provision of a day duty service
- Act within an equal opportunities framework
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Registered with Social Work England (SWE)
- Full UK Driving License
- Eligible to work in the UK
