We are recruiting caring, dependable and experienced Children’s Support Workers for temporary and ongoing assignments across Dorset.
This role involves supporting children and young people in a range of care settings. You will help provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment while encouraging independence, confidence and positive development.
Assignments may vary depending on the needs of each service, giving you the opportunity to work in different settings and support young people with a range of needs.
The Role
As a Children’s Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people during their daily routines.
You will be expected to build positive professional relationships, follow individual care plans and work closely with permanent staff to maintain a consistent and supportive approach.
The role may include supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional needs, learning disabilities, autism or other additional support requirements.

- Supporting young people with activities, appointments and community access
- Following care plans, behaviour support plans and risk assessments
- Supporting young people during periods of distress or challenging behaviour

- Completing accurate records, handovers and incident reports
- Reporting safeguarding concerns in line with service procedures
- Working collaboratively with permanent staff and other professionals
- Promoting the dignity, privacy and rights of every young person
About You

Previous experience working with children or young people in care, support work, education, youth work or a similar environment is desirable.
Relevant transferable experience may also be considered.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are preferred but not essential, depending on the location and requirements of each assignment.
Shift Availability
Assignments may include:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Bank holiday shifts
- Waking nights
- Sleep-in shifts
- Short-notice and ongoing placements
Availability will depend on current service requirements and assignment locations.
Registration Requirements
Before starting any assignments, candidates will need to complete the agency registration and compliance process.
This may include:
- An enhanced DBS check for the children’s workforce
- Satisfactory professional references
- Proof of identity and right to work in the UK
- Relevant training and employment history
- Any additional checks required for the assignment
