About the Role:
We are seeking a Care Worker to join our dedicated Adults with Disabilities Team at Nottinghamshire County Council.
You will deliver day opportunities activity and undertake personal care and support. This will include work within community hubs, specialist services
and in the community.
Contracted Hours – 35 hours per week (Full-Time)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a range of assistance and support in response to the day-to-day personal, physical, and emotional needs of individuals, ensuring dignity and sensitivity to age, disability, sexuality, gender, and cultural origin, in line with care plans
- Positively support individuals within a risk management framework and escalate any risks or unresolved issues
- Contribute to the completion of care plans through effective consultation with individuals, carers, specialist workers, and relevant agencies
- Comply with departmental health and safety policies and understand individual responsibilities under health and safety legislation
- Follow departmental practice guidance, policies, and procedures
- Deliver a wide range of daily activities and support in line with care plans and the organisation’s quality assurance framework
- Provide support to individuals on a one-to-one basis or in groups, either at a base or in community settings within a designated geographical area
- Administer medication as required, recording procedures in accordance with the medication policy
- Escort vehicles as authorised and support individuals in accessing transport services
- Provide cover and assistance as needed during staff absences or to meet other service requirements within the geographical area
- Engage and communicate effectively with carers, relatives, specialist workers, support groups, individuals accessing day opportunities, and legal representatives
- Carry out all responsibilities related to day opportunities with a positive attitude and in accordance with the organisation’s practice framework
Requirements:
- Professional care qualification or equivalent – the postholder will have a care qualification or be expected to work to standards which equate to Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and the Care Certificate
- Basic level of ICT Skill
- Experience of working directly with adults, individuals or groups.
- Eligible to work in the UK
