About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Care Home Manager to lead the operational, clinical, and strategic management of our 75-bed care home in Hertfordshire. You will oversee a well-established team including a Deputy Manager, Team Leaders, and Clinical Nurses, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care and maintaining full compliance with CQC standards.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm)
Home Size: 75 beds
Reports to: Senior Management
Line Management: Deputy Manager, Team Leaders, Clinical Nurses
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of the care home, ensuring the highest standards of care, dignity, and wellbeing for all residents.
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations and all relevant legislative and organisational requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team including the Deputy Manager, Team Leaders, and Clinical Nurses.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and resources efficiently to maintain operational excellence and financial sustainability.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management to build a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Engage effectively with residents, families, external professionals, and regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement, quality assurance, and service development initiatives.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and compliant records and documentation.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents and staff.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role within a residential or nursing care home.
- Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing large teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain high-quality care standards while managing operational demands.
- Strong financial and resource management skills.
- A compassionate, resident-focused approach with commitment to outstanding care.
Qualifications
- Registered Manager qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care or equivalent).
- Nursing qualification (RGN/RMN/RNLD) desirable but not essential.
