About the Role:
We are seeking a Social Worker to join our dedicated Children’s Team at Staffordshire County Council.
Contracted Hours – 37 hours per week (Full-Time) – Happy to discuss hybrid/part times working (4 days a week)
Key Responsibilities:

Holding and managing a workload of children and young people, prioritising work in line with Directorate policies, procedures, standing orders, budgets, and relevant legislation.

Ensuring Family Group Conferences/Family Meetings are offered to all families as part of assessments and plans to support children, young people, and their families.

Undertaking direct work with children, families, and carers that provides high support and challenge, aiming to help families find their own solutions and develop a family-formulated plan as a safe alternative to the Local Authority’s plan.

Ensuring all work is completed within stated timescales according to national and local policy.

Planning, carrying out, and monitoring all activities required to achieve outcomes for individual children and families, in conjunction with other agencies.

Undertaking regular reviews of children’s and families’ situations and using the outcomes to create new arrangements and plans collaboratively with service users and other agencies.

Maintaining client records in accordance with Directorate policies and procedures within the Integrated Children’s System framework.

Participating in regular supervision or consultation with the Team Manager, keeping them informed of significant issues concerning children and families.

Providing high-quality and timely assessments and reports in the agreed format for Courts, Child Protection Case Conferences, Statutory Reviews, and other forums as directed by the Team Manager.

Working in partnership with colleagues within the Directorate and outside agencies to achieve outcomes for vulnerable children, supporting safe de-escalation of plans and facilitating reunification with a package of support where appropriate.

Ensuring their work contributes to achieving agreed performance targets at individual, team, and business levels, supporting the aspirations of both Families & Communities and County Council priorities.

Participating in the formulation of new initiatives and policy across the Directorate as appropriate.

Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing continuous professional development in line with Social Work England professional practice standards.

Supervising and supporting the professional development of social work students and non-social work qualified staff on the team when required.

Developing strong working relationships with other agencies and colleagues within the Directorate, supporting initiatives that involve holding risk and working with families to formulate safety plans that maintain children at home or facilitate effective rehabilitation.

Performing any other duties commensurate with the grading and nature of the post.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Registered with Social Work England
- Eligible to work in the UK
