About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Children’s Residential Deputy Manager to support our 2 bed children’s home. We are looking for an experienced, child focused individual who has a good understanding of the Ofsted Regulations to support the Registered Manager in the day to day running of on one of our children’s homes is Warrington and ensure the services we provide to our children is outstanding.
You will work 37 hours a week Monday to Sunday on rota basis with the expectation of completing sleep in duties supporting the children and young people in within the service.
 Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each young person at all times, taking all necessary precautions to safeguard them.
- Manage staff rotas effectively to ensure adequate cover aligned with the needs of young people and budget constraints.
- Assist the Registered Manager in managing staff absences, including sickness and annual leave, in accordance with Warrington Borough Council policies and procedures.
- Support the team in the continuous assessment, development, implementation, and review of person-centred plans and assessments for each young person.
- Contribute to monthly quality audits and six-monthly Regulation 45 audits, including reviews of young people’s care files.
- Ensure young people attend health appointments and that prescribed medication is administered according to legislation and policies.
- Support young people’s engagement and progress in education through appropriate planning and encouragement.
- Facilitate access to hobbies, interests, and recreational activities, ensuring appropriate plans are in place.
- Work in partnership with professionals and external agencies to meet the needs of young people.
- Assist the manager in ensuring all accidents and significant incidents are appropriately recorded, investigated, and responded to in line with policy, including medical follow-up.
- Support young people in making complaints, ensuring these are reported and investigated according to policy, with clear outcomes.
- Ensure young people are aware of and supported in accessing advocacy services.
- Support young people in preparing for adulthood, tailored to their age and developmental level.
- Promote awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and internal policies among young people.
- Ensure safe systems of living and working are in place and regularly reviewed to maintain the well-being of residents.
- Promote dignity and respect for all young people, encouraging autonomy and informed choice.
- Support the cultural, social, and spiritual identity of young people, respecting and enabling their individual diversity.
- Maintain knowledge of current legislation, local authority policies, and procedures; report concerns regarding practices or home operations to the Home Manager.
- Act as the responsible person in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring compliance with legislation, quality standards, and council procedures.
 Requirements:
- NVQ L3 in care of children & young people or a diploma in social care
- Experience of working with children and young people in a social care setting
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Fire Safety Certificate
- Eligible to work in the UK
